Aquatic Therapy
A therapeutic procedure which attempts to improve function through the application
of aquatic therapeutic exercises. These procedures require constant attendance of
a therapist educated in performing aquatic therapeutic exercises.
Certified Hand Therapy
The art and science of rehabilitation of the upper quarter of the human body. Hand
therapy is a merging of occupational physical therapy theory and practice that combines
comprehensive knowledge of the upper quarter, body function and activity. Using
specialized skills in assessment and treatment, hand therapists promote the goals
of prevention of dysfunction, restoration of function and or reversal of the progression
of pathology in order to enhance participation in life situations for individuals
with upper quarter disease or injury.
Chiropractic Care
A branch of the healing arts focused on human health, disease processes, and physiological
and biochemical aspects of the body including structural, spinal, musculoskeletal,
neurological, vascular, nutritional, emotional and environmental relationships.
Chiropractic procedures include the adjustment and manipulation of the articulations
and adjacent tissues of the human body, particularly of the spinal column. Included
is the treatment of intersegmental dysfunction for alleviation of related functional
disorders.
Massage Therapy
A profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply
adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and
well-being of the client.
Occupational Therapy
The use of purposeful activity or interventions to achieve functional outcomes.
Occupational therapy is focused on restoring sensory-motor, perceptual and neuromuscular
function.
Physical Therapy
The Physical Therapy Profession has an established theoretical and scientific base
with widespread clinical applications in the restoration, maintenance and promotion
of optimal physical function.
Speech Therapy
The treatment of disorders that prevent people from speaking clearly.
Work Conditioning
Work Conditioning programs are unidisciplinary return to work programs which are
utilized when there is a need to prepare a patient to safely return to available
employment at the workplace, which is currently beyond the physical capabilities
of the patient.
Work Hardening
Work Hardening programs are multidisciplinary return to work programs which are
utilized when there is a need to prepare a patient to safely return to available
employment at the workplace, which is currently beyond the physical capabilities
of the patient.
